Pete Carroll-inspired approach to the mental and physical aspects of athletics will guide a series of summer camps for student-athletes
Los Angeles (April 1, 2010) – This summer, student-athletes participating in football and cheerleading programs in their schools and will have the opportunity to attend the Win Forever Academy, a 3-day camp session providing the ultimate competitive and learning experience, created and inspired by former University of Southern California and current Seattle Seahawks Executive Vice-President and Head Football Coach Pete Carroll.
Three individual camp sessions, all attended by Coach Carroll are scheduled to take place from June 28-30 at The Home Depot Center and be led by current and former NFL and NCAA coaches and players who were all personally selected by Coach Carroll. The program, designed by Carroll and his staff, will provide campers with the mental and physical skills necessary to be elite competitors while learning new skills to allow them to compete at their highest possible level.
“It has always been a dream of mine to be a part of an academy that aids not only athletes, but coaches and organizations as well,” said Pete Carroll. “It will start with football camps but other sports and business organizations will follow.”
Win Forever is a proven system of success for those who compete to maximize their potential in sports, entertainment, philanthropy, business, and life. A coaching philosophy inspired by Carroll, Win Forever is the “New Generation of Coaching for the Next Generation of Athlete.”
Carroll just completed an amazing run of success at USC, where he revived a slumping football program and turned it into one of the nation’s top powers, winning two national championships in 2003 and 2004, a record seven straight Pac-10 Conference champion-ships and a record of 97-19. He resigned in January to become the Executive Vice-President and Head Football Coach of the National Football League’s Seattle Seahawks.
A portion of all proceeds from the Win Forever Academy will go towards Coach Carroll’s foundation, “A Better LA.” A Better LA’s (www.abetterla.org) mission is to reduce violence in Los Angeles through community building, youth empowerment and the professional training of prevention and intervention workers.
